I accidentally posted this under the Florida section first and then figured it might get better action here...

I know you cain't do it during mini season, but who do you guys use for season? Are there any operators that that specialize in it or is it a hit and miss thing until you find someone?

Hmmm, interesting question.

Honestly I don't know of a single charter boat that does lobster hunting trips anytime of the year in the John Pennekamp State Marine Preserve. Also most of the northern Keys state waters are now a marine preserve too. More information can be found at www.myfwc.com

Thanks, I already know the info, that's why I was asking... theoretically, it IS legal, provided you follow the rules...

low probality.....

capt slate dive atlantis would be my 1st choice...

then any 6 pack operator...

if you want lobster, the middle and lower keys, back country (grass flats) is the place to go... typically in the bridge current.... (but not under the bridge).

pennicamp gets hit hard... and operators running trips specialize on popular spots....

If you insist on pennicamp, go for the elbow, or molassas reefs. they are big enough you'll have a chance...

IMHO, channel 5 is the place to go... bay side.
