For me, I think that night time during mini lobster season, or just after the regular lobster season begins, there seems to be an abundance of nice sized lobsters roaming around the shallow reefs around the Florida Keys looking for a lobster bag to call their home :eyebrow:

I am currious to find out what others expeirence as the best Time, Weather, Moon Phase and Tide for Lobster Hunting?

Bugs are always on the move looking for food. Over the years, I've heard many theories, but only 2 things hold true in my experience.

1. After a very strong storm like a hurricane or good 7-10 footer seas, the deeper bugs seem to move into the shallower reefs.

2. To find bugs, you need to go where no one else dives. If a regular reef spot is getting hammered day after day with divers, there just won't be any bugs. Try to get off the "well traveled" path and get into the rarely hit spots.

You will also want to stay out of the free divers' reach. That will eliminate a lot of competition for the same bugs.

Good luck.

Here in California, the later at night, the better.
