last year the Caribiean Kraken was anchored in the harbour. My understanding wss that it was a live a board but they were using local dive ops in Cozumel.
I remember looking at their website at the time and they had a route in area. Looks lime they are doing something in Cuba now.

Dive with an operator with large tanks like Aldora and you get 70-80 minute dives. You will have less dive quantity than a live aboard, but daily total bottom time will be closer. Three 50 minute dives is the same bottom time as two 75 minute dives.

Great thing about Cozumel is you have many choices. Stay downtown to be close to the food. Stay south to be close to the reefs. Stay someplace in between to split the difference.

Aldora is an excellent Dive OP...But fact is....70 - 80 minute dives are achievable if using AL 80's as well... And MOST if not all Cozumel Dive Ops offer those... Just check with your dive op if they have set limits to bottom time or allow divers to dive their air and bottom time limits. It is not ALWAYS the size of the tank, but how a diver uses their air.....:)

Not all of us are blessed with a Body Mass Index of less than 25 (or even less than 45!)

Agreed... a larger tank , such as a steel 100 does provide more air and in turn for those who use air quickly, a longer bottom time and a very enjoyable dive experience...However there are MANY divers, no matter of BMI, age or size, who can get 70-80 or MORE minuets of bottom time on an AL 80 and still have 700 PSI or more left even AFTER a safety stop. For those who can their Cozumel dive op choices are very open to those who do not have a set bottom time.

No matter what...all is good...Find what works and then stick to it !!! Happy Diving !

Big Mike is an example: good buoyancy and trim, no wasted movements. We start deep and he usually goes 70-80 minutes on an AL80
