Liveaboards during US Thanksgiving. Yay or Nah for Americans....?

Would you take an 11 day Raja Ampat liveaboard during Thanksgiving?

  • Absolutely! That's the best time of year and I prefer to get away during the holidays

  • Never! Thanksgiving is meant to be spent at home with family.

So, Thanksgiving is a time to come together with family. You eat, sleep, laugh, watch football (American) and visit. If the family is all going then it shouldn't be an issue. For most families all married to others we split it over three weeks usually so everyone can be with everyone else. This leaves us to have a beach trip every year for the 5 of us.

Hi all, quick question for our American cousins, What is the general thought ref doing an 11 day liveaboard ( Raja Ampat) during US Thanksgiving. I am planning a trip including US family and we are debating whether Americans generally fall into the 'absolutely!' or 'no way!' camp regarding being away over Thanksgiving.

Thanks!

Show them pictures of Raj Ampat and they may pass on the turkey and yams.

Yay!

Went twice to Raja Ampat during Thanksgivings. Once during Christmas-New Year holiday season. Great time of the year to be in Raja Ampat then. Lot’s of schooling fish & diversity of fish, including some wobbegong sharks, walking sharks, mantas, etc.
