I'm curious if anyone has any recommendations for a budget liveaboard. I dove with Dragon Dive Komodo before the pandemic (2019) when Nico and Guilliaume were there but it looks like the upgraded boat is not singles friendly and requires a full ensuite to be booked. Currently I'm looking at Uber Scuba Komodo and their 6 night trip. Has anyone dove with them? or recommend any other dive shops?

I don't know if it is within your budget, but KLM Eliya is a very good, reasonably priced new LoB by an operator (scuba junkies) with very good reputation in the area (and not only).

I did a trip with them in August. It was the only "cheap" (~1.5k$) LoB doing (optionally) nitrox and 4 dives a day (20 in total over 6 days/5 nights). Here is my report of that trip: Trip Report - Scuba Junkies' KLM Eliya Overal I am very happy with them.

I haven't stayed there myself, but I read good reports often about their land based "resort" which is also very budget friendly. Keep in mind that the LoB and their day boats practically cover the same areas, so one can dive the same sites from either the LoB or the resort.

Scuba Republic on the Bajak. Did it that time this year, had a blast.

Thank you for your trip report. Their boat looks a bit too good for what I was on last time haha. You do go to go a bit more south or north if you do the 5N LoB's from what I remember and I would like to visit some less crowded spots.
