Hi, I'm planning to do a liveaboard as a single diver sometime at the end of June, looking for suggestions for a cheap but good liveaboard option and open to various locations, but interested in the Caribbean or anywhere easily accessible from Los Angeles.

If anyone wants to join me, please let me know as well!

You might look at Juliet Sailing and Scuba Diving in the Bahamas as a possibility.

Not sure about the end of June, but Singledivers.com is doing Dry Tortugas the week after July 4th, Texas Flower Gardens in August, Bahamas in September and New Years. Guarantees a same sex roomate with no single supplement.

I have been out with Blackbeards twice now. Once as a single and once with a buddy I met on the first trip. Both trips were awesome. I don't mind the sleeping arrangements and the diving is spectacular. You can't find a better value for a week at sea.

Blackbeard's does the Bahamas and is definitely the cheapest but you will be sleeping in a not-so-private bunk and sharing a bathroom.
Nekton is in Bahamas all summer, and is better as you get a private room and bathroom!
Explorer Ventures has a Bahamas boat that is similar in price to Nekton, some rooms share a bath.
It all depends on what price you can pay.

As RobinT said - from a price point Blackbeard's is your best bet.

The Aggressor is probably the nicest and is the most expensive.

If money really is an issue look at COCO View - its a land based opeerqation on Roatan but is like being on a liveaboard. (I refer to the place as an on land liveaboard)

Belize Aggressor III would be my first choice,

Just be careful, not everywhere is easy to get to in the Caribbean. For example, getting to Grenada is a major pain from Miami.

The aggressor fleet has a great Turks and Caicos itinerary and vessel. I can get you $100 off if they have any open spots. They tend to fill up quickly. I just set aside an entire vessel for June of 2009. Anyone interested?!

...and they have openings for a single male on the June 28, 2008 sailing to Turks and Caicos. They are very nice as well...and a bit more economical than the Aggressor. It all depends on what you're looking for, but since you mention price in your post, I would suggest going this route.
