Hi Scubaboard Buddies -

Life is still great on Roatan! The worst thing happening is the weather. Apparently there is a tropical wave making its way toward the Yucatan Peninsula. The only effect here is wind...which of course creates big waves and swells. The forecast calls for the same until we leave, so if you're coming down be sure to check the weather sites before you leave. (I have found the most accurate for Roatan winds is Weather Underground...only my opinion) If you are predisposed to seasickness (as I am!!!) be sure to pack your meds.

Yesterday we experienced quite a phenomenon. During the night we experienced heavy rainfall, but when we woke up in the morning everything had cleared out and we had the clearest and best view of the mainland we have ever seen! It was quite amazing. The guys here at the Fantasy Island dive shop were telling us the names of the mountains...fascinating!

Diving goes on as usual. The vis is limited at some sites due to the waves, but that just gives us an opportunity to visit different places. Today we saw 4 seahorses, an octupus (in the daytime!) and a pipefish at Forty Foot Point. We're having a blast!

If you have plans to come down, by all means don't cancel them. Everything here is just fine. The people here are peaceful and the resorts are counting on you for survival. Fantasy Island is hosting "Singles Week" in a couple of weeks. They are mostly booked and hopefully there won't be many cancellations.

It's all good on Roatan...:)
