Live-Aboards visiting Monad Shoals in an attempt to see Thresher Sharks should follow local ediquette and common sense that Threshers have an aversion to bright lights.
Hence the dives are usualy between 5-7 am, before sunrise
Recently (oct 30) The bright ,Dual Halogen Head lights of video filming divers from a local liveboard operator surely effected the behavior of the Threshers .
With app 40-50 divers patiently and quietly waiting for a sighting (without flashes or spotlights ) the Millenium Falcon like Headlights of the Liveabord Divers traversed the entire ledge of the dive site.
Needless to say the Threshers didnt appear
Liveaboards visting these sites should practice more RESPONSIBLE diving
