So, I got Lisa an OMS backplate system for xmas. It was a last minute thing, since another present fell through (boy is she lucky for that!).

I got her the OMS comfort harness and stainless backplate, with the single tank adapter, and the RED 32 pound single bladder for use with her drysuit. The Mares Ariel Dragonfly she has is just too small for the drysuit diving.

I am using the DSS hog setup in stainless and thought this would be a good comparison between the two - we can trade off.

Any comments on the OMS setup? Leisurepro had a great deal on it. Less than what they had advertised on the site by quite a bit.

Sounds GREAT! I have an OMS rig and it's a goody. I'm sure she will enjoy it.

Might want to get her a simple Hog harness, though! What were you thinkin'? :D

On a serious note, she may find the OMS webbing to be too stiff and the over-thickness d-rings hard to clip to. I switched to the DiveRite hog and like it much better. (Love the wing and backplate though.)

My wife found the OMS webbing too hard as well. Make sure you take a file to the edges of the plate. My wifes webbing was eaten withing 30 dives. We replaced it with different webbing.
Other than that she loves it

Lisa called. She said there had better be a diamond on there somewhere. :D

Are you Lisa's mother!!

And justleesa...YOU PEEEKED.

Thanks for the replies everyone. It's going to be primarily for her dry suit. I bought the comfort harness so maybe thats different than the harder webbing? It has shoulder pads at least.

Yeah one thing I like about my DSS is the grommets on the BP. Nice feature. We'll keep an eye on the webbing.

Merry Christmas ...

Jeff -
I LOVE my OMS backplate and wing!!! :D It was so comfortable on our dive today - better than my bc ever was! It was really like it wasn't even there.
The comfort harness so far seems to be great, it sat very nicely on my shoulders and it was easy to adjust.
Thanks so much, it was a thoughtful, perfect Christmas gift! Better than the sweatshirts I bought for you, you poor thing.

You're the best. Let's go diving again right now.
