Hello,

I caught a juvenile lionfish while diving in 30feet of water just North of Hillsboro Inlet. I was very surprised to see this. Iknow they have been reported in the Keys and Bahamas. Are they known to be thriving in Florida East coast yet? should we start reporting any sightings?

I would go ahead and report any sightings you have of this invasive fish species.... the earlier the problem is addressed the faster it can be resolved....they've been found all over the Carribean and even as far north as Bermuda!

They just started to see them in Cozumel a couple of weeks ago. An aggresive and fast growing fish.

Definately report it.

Please report this as it will become a major problem. In 2007 one was spoted when I was in key west in was in the rocks 25 yards from the beach. I did not see it myself but others did and as a result a attempt was being made to capture it by the relavant authority.
