Apparently we're not allowed to have our own thread in the SoCal forum, to discuss the incident that occurred in our own backyard, on one of our local boats, to one of our local divers.
I know there are many SoCal divers who only go to this forum on SB. So I originally posted a thread about this verdict here, knowing there were threads in other forums on it. I did this to ensure that those of us who mainly hang out in this forum, would hear about it, since most of us probably don't visit the "Scuba Related Court Cases" forum on a regular basis. And I also posted it here so we SoCal divers, who know our own local boats, dive sites, and practices, could discuss it amongst ourselves, without wading through posts from divers in Australia or New York, who know nothing about the case, local dive practices, or the unique aspects of diving at our local oil rigs.
But apparently that's against ScubaBoard policy. Evidently all conversation on this topic must be confined to one thread, even if it's in an obscure forum that none of us ever visit.
I would ask the SB moderators to please leave this thread here, so at least it will flag our local divers that there is a thread elsewhere on this topic. And to our local divers, please don't discuss it here - confine your discussion to the other (combined) thread. Because lord knows we don't wanna break any SB rules about having more than one discussion on a topic.
But feel free to discuss your feelings on what I personally consider to be a boneheaded, not to mention inconsiderate and not very well thought-out, action by the SB mods.
