Likelihood of reg freezing?

Scuba Brian, that's more excellent info. I'll further research that, as well. Sounds like a good explanation as to why something would go wrong with a reg. I'm glad I'm learning about it now. As I said in my first post above, it's getting cold quickly where I live, and I would not want to be taken by surprise if something did happen.
TripletDad, I haven't had the chance to go to the Genesis site yet, so thanks for looking that up for me. From what you said, sounds like I might be covered with my particular reg, hey. It appears to be sealed from the elements (water) quite well, for all intents and purposes.
 
I would just make sure to get a second stage w/ a metal barrel inside that will conduct the water's heat. I think there are different schools of thought on sealed 1st stages..the top of the xstream is not sealed-the top spring is exposed. I guess all of them are sealed to some extent. yada yada..
