Looks like the success/failure thread has already been hijacked for that ;)

I have a charging question.

I was thinking of putting external contact on the canister for charging without opening the cannister.

I know about cells venting when overcharged and I have that covered. My first thought was to put two stainless bolts through the lid and connect to the heads. If I add a diode to prevent any discharge when in the water, will this work?
 
just gave a talk to the underwater anthropology class at FSU, one item I thought sounded very interesting was:

In the early days of cave exploration down here they would purchase lights from Sears Robuck and once in the water flood the canister (it was fresh water springs) the contacts were durable enough to last the duration of the dive but the lights were pretty much one time use!!
