Hi all,

I've been shooting for years and most of my post-processing has been done with Photoshop CS3. Photoshop CS3 is 6 years old and difficult to work with. I'm looking to "upgrade" to something more modern, but simpler.

And I'm left with Lightroom 5 (Lightroom wasn't around when I started shooting digitally, so I've never used it) and Aperture 3.4.5 is out of date with no talk from Apple about Aperture 4.

I can get Lightroom 5 for the same price as Aperture with my student discount.

Which would you recommend for color corrections, minor touch ups, etc.?

If it helps, all my underwater photography uses a Canon G15/Inon S-2000 setup. On the surface its either my trusty EOS 20D (until I buy myself a 70D this Christmas) or the G15 again.

What's everyone using?

You'd be good with either. Also look at adding Topaz Filters, they work with Lightroom or Aperture, PC or Mac.

Download them both and play, I use lightroom, but your workflow/style might like Aperture better.
