I know this isn't specifically a DIR question, but only 2 people replied in the equipment forum, so since it is related to a piece of gear all DIR divers use I'm re-posting it here.

I'm thinking of getting a stealth light canister.

He has one 10watt focusable Dive Rite head for $325
I can also can get the Proteus 10 watt head from Extreme Exposure for $437.

Another option is, I know someone who's selling a Halcyon Pro 14 with the 18 watt head. He'll let me have it for $600. That canister is huge and I don't think I'll ever need that much burn time for the type of diving I'm doing.I was thinking of maybe picking it up, selling the monster sized can on ebay, and sending the head to Dan to wire into one of his cans.

Do I really need 18 watts though?
Even with the 10 watt head, what's so great about the Halcyon?

Nothing against Halcyon. The reason I'm asking is because everyone seems to love the Halcyon heads, but their 10 watt is over $100 more than the Dive Rite.

What's so bad about the Dive Rite?
