I am using a halcyon lift bag, halcyon BP/W with MC pack and storing the bag in the MC pack. Diving with a single tank I have never had an issue deploying the bag.

Now with doubles I just can't get the bag out of the MC pack. Seems the weight of the doubles has the bag trapped against my back. Has anyone else had this problem?

Any solutions or advice?

I do also carry a small SMB with spool in my pocket, but would like to able to deploy either.

I have thought of trying rolling over or going vertical to get the bag out, but in the mean time I started carrying it in my pocket.

I have no issue getting a 50# bag out of the MC pack on my doubles plate. How are you folding the bag? It should be as flat as possible. I basically (starting with it spread open) fold the sides in, then into about thirds length-wise. This forms a nice flat package that fits easily in the backplate pad. I attach a double-ender to the bag (mine has a ring for this) and the butt d-ring. I need simply reach back, find the double-ender, and pull out the bag.

How are you folding the bag? It should be as flat as possible.

Starting with it laying flat, fold the rounded sides in first to make more of rectangle, then fold in the sides till they meet in the middle, then fold it in thirds. I do have to bend it in the middle lengthwise to get it in the small opening in the MC pack. Mine has a single ender attached to it which is then connected to butt D ring as well.

I will try folding it different, Thanks.

I used to store my bag redneck style also. It was easy to get out with doubles and a wetsuit, but difficult to get out with doubles, a drysuit and dry gloves. Because of that, I now keep the bag in one of my drysuit pockets.

If I had it folded weird, it would give me trouble. Simple flat fold, no problems.

There should be no difference between a single and doubles since in both cases the wing is "supporting" the tank(s) when you're horizontal. If you're using a different BP with the doubles, I would suggest you recheck that the harness isn't too tight on the BP you're using.
