I am looking at the Sea and Sea YS-D1 strobes and I can get a used pair about $300 cheaper than new, for the pair. What is the life expectancy of strobes?
Does the power output get less as they are used or need to be replace after a certain number of fires?
 
I'd go for the used pair, I don't think you'll have any significant issues with used YS-D1 strobes, strobes can last a long time.
