I am SO high right now. WHO needs drugs. I had lesson five ( tomorrow I will take my written test and he probably will give me my temporary card and send off for my permenant one). Today was AMAZING. First, as I said last week he was going to do, he threw my gear in the water at the end of the dock. I had worried abouat that all week. that was NO big deal. I could see my regulator so of course I jumped down and grabbed that.............Did have trouble getting my fins on, but things were good. I have had some sinus problems this week so didn't know how much I was going to be able to dive. Had some problems at first ( when we stayed in teh shallows ( about 25 ft) clearing my left ear. It finally started cooperating. We took a break and worked on dive tables a while. When we went back in we put on wetsuits to go deeper. I told him I wanted to see the bus. ( there is a trailways bus in the deep end of the quarry.) He had said last week that we would try to go down to see the bus and even go through it. I told him no way waws I ready to go throug it, but I did want to see it. I was having trouble getting down very deep, so we stopped and they found two rocks and put them in my pockets. That took care of that problem ( so when I write down thoughts about this dive, I will say I had 14 pounds and two rocks). Well, we got down, to the COLD , visibility wasn't good, kbut suddenly I see this big thing in front of me. It was the bus..........we went to the top so I could right my name on the top of the bus in the silt. Then we went down to the bottom at the front of the bus to look in. Tony, my insturctor told me to watch and he went in the bus. it looked quite dark inside and I soon lost sight of him. His son, who was divivng with us, handed me a flashlight and motioned for me to go in the bus.........I though heck, why not, Im here..........so I went in. once in the bus I could see everything..........and it wasn't really scary at all..............I swam through to the end of the bus..............I was SO excited I actually went THROUGH the bus. its wasn't terribly deep, about 44 ft, but was deeper than I have been, and I actually went THROUGH IT...........can you tell I am excited......I can't wait till I can dive to an actual wreck !!!!!!!!!!! This undoubtably is the best thing I have ever done in my life.

Ah, the diving bug, don't ya love it? Dive safely!

Oh, I SO hear you. Did dive #30 today. It's not getting any less exciting or euphoria-inducing; rather the reverse.

Warning . . . expenditures of obscene amounts of money follow close on the heels of discovering how much fun this is :)

Congratulations, it sounds like you're a certified diver. I agree that after 46 dives it's just as much of an adventure and gets better and better as you tailor your dives to your liking. As skills become automatic responses you have more attention do devote to seeing and learning more and more. Have fun.

How did you end up on your weights? Did the 2 rocks keep you heavy enough to make your 15 foot stop after breathing the tank down. What does this translate to for next time? When you say you "had trouble getting down very deep" I'm a little surprised since once you get down much at all suit compression takes over and sinks you faster and faster. Did you have to swim down hard to get to the depth where you got the rocks? Did you do a good post dive weight check with the tank breathed down to 500 PSI or so?

Sounds like a thrill to tour the bus. You do realize that you have no buisness going in something like that unsupervised without the right training and equipment. That's an overhead enviornment the way I see it and without a buddy close at hand, cutting tools in case you get fouled etc. you could get into a lot of trouble. Being in a public dive quarry I assume the bus is stabilized so it won't roll or shift but you're still in a position where you can't do a CESA if the need arises. Maybe I'm being too conservative here but I see it as a wreck even if it's in a park setting.

Now dive, dive dive!

How did you end up on your weights? Did the 2 rocks keep you heavy enough to make your 15 foot stop after breathing the tank down. The rocks seems to make it perfect for that particular dive. Had no trouble with my stops. What does this translate to for next time? Right now it seems that my boyancy is different for each dive. Should settle down with experience. When you say you "had trouble getting down very deep" I'm a little surprised since once you get down much at all suit compression takes over and sinks you faster and faster. The problem was that I coudln't get down more than a foot or two below the surrface:
