specifically game, more specifically lobster? I read in the socal best beach dives book that theres not much game and since its one of many spots I havent dove I figured I would ask.

ha! anyone who really knows where lobster will be after oct 1st isn't going to tell you :)

any rocky shore dive site is bound to have some lobsters, especially where there are caves and crevices. Leo is a *really* big dive area, there are tons of dive sites there... you really just have to start diving there and learning where lobster hide out... even if someone said "yes, there are lobster there", the chances are you wouldn't go to the right spot on your first dive there...

ps - to answer your question, yes, I guarentee there is at least 1 lobster at leo carrillo.

the reason I wanted to know is I am thinking of camping there that weekend and getting some diving in,I dont need to know anyones secret spot.I had planned on doing two harbors that night but its buccaneers weekend and it will be packed.I am basically looking for a diving /campground area and this is the only one I have heard of with decent diving. know of another one??

It's a great location for a camping/diving weekend. We've had a few Wrinkles Dive and BBQ events there and it has always been a great place. When the vis is good this is a great dive location.

When the viz is good. Yesterday there was red tide from big rock to silver strand. No dives for the kid! :(
