I tried something like this years ago
There are a number of challenges
1. The approximation that the lens system is a single point and that the physical dimension do not matter is only valid for systems where the working distance is much larger than the size of camera and lens
2. Different lenses have different nodal points so calculations on angle of view fail as they assume a non moving starting point
3. Due to 1.2 you need a model non a calculator to perform a true evaluation

However in practical terms you only need to know if your close up lens will help or not and you can determine that using the lens specs and a ruler it is not exact but works wonders
