Hello all,

I have a DC1200 that I have been using for about two years so far. Recently, I've noticed that the objective lens on the housing has taken on two colors. It's very slight and you can only see it if the housing is held a certain way to the light.

It looks like a lens coating, but it's starting to come off. I haven't noticed a change in my pictures, so what is this coating, and it something that should be replaced or have the housing sent in for?

Thanks

The lens has an anti-reflective coating on it that maximizes light transmission and reduces glare. It's a hard coating that normally does not come off unless it's scratched.
We would be glad to evaluate the housing if you would like. Please contact our service center, Parts and Service | Sealife Cameras or email address below.

Sealife,
Thanks. It's odd, because the battern the coating is coming off is not indictive of a scratch. It's coming off in a very uniform pattern, and I also take care to protect that part of the housing from scratches. Once the lens cover comes off, the wide angle goes on, and it stays that way until the dive is done.

How long would it average to send in the housing for evaluation/repair?
