Well, now they are authorized dealer and the price from the knighthawk went up 150 dollars, it was 450 before the announcement....

Same for spectra mini mask was 35 now is 70...

Good or bad?

Depends on how you look at it. You now get an official warranty. It may be a wash to some, but a deal breaker to others.

The price is the same as the lds so I think it is a fair deal for online vs lds retailers...and you get the warranty..

Is that the warranty to cover my late model mask
that is pretty much in the same condition as my
ten year old mask or the warranty on my twenty
year old rubber mask because silicone was a bit
crap back then and why buy a mask when you
have a mask until they sort out their compound
experiments on the public or the thirty year old
mask also rubber a bit leaky but it's nostalgic
and I like it or my 40 year old mask that was
bought ten years ago rubber mint because all
my stuff from 40 years ago went by the wayside
having paid a song and replaced 6 mask straps
rubber mainly from sitting around folded in half
at the clamp buckle thing

Good or bad?

Good for the LDS, bad for Leisurepro, bad for the diver looking for the best price.

People shop at Leisurepro because of the great prices, if they are going to charge LDS prices instead of the great LP prices of the past. Why buy from Leisurpro. I'm sorry to see they are now part of the scubapro marketing/price fixing enterprise, I liked them better as independents.

So, I guess I will not be getting any more MK17/G250V's from Leisurepro any time soon.

Shoot an email to info@leisurepro.com or call 8006376880 with your items of interest. I'm not sure if there's anything that can be done since I'm not the vendor agreement or pricing guy, but I know with some other vendors the operative word in MAP is "advertised".

I know it's a bummer for people who never used the warranty and just loved the incredible prices. The agreement with SCUBAPRO means we can get their entire catalog easily though, plus should you need repair/warranty work done, it can be done more easily now.

So what you are saying here is what you see online for price is not what it is when you call??Just tell Leisure Pro you want a better price and they revert to their old advertised prices?

I've read on these forums instances where people call or email for more information about a product and are sometimes offered a different price than what is shown online. I haven't heard this about SCUBAPRO directly since it was only announced earlier today. It wouldn't hurt to ask the right people though. What I did say is that I'm not the vendor agreement or pricing guy :)

I've bought a couple of "higher dollar items" from LP that my LDS did not carry. Simple, call or email LP and ask them for a lower price.

in my case, I got a much lower case, and bought it from them. No hassles.

If you want to pay full price, click "ADD TO CART" and have it shipped. Their web pricing is mostly based on MAP per their Dealer Agreement. So for the items that they are "Authorized dealers" for, they have to charge MAP. (which is why they went up).

Now.... my real question is with ScubaPro joining LP, when are others like Aqualung and Dive Rite gonna join?

and what is your LDS gonna say about LP now? I mean the LDS's have been trying to discredit LP for years based on "all the stuff they sell is fake". What's their excuse gonna be now? :D
