Anybody going to be at the 2011 Legends of Diving meet at Portage this summer?

I'll be there as well as a bunch of other vintage divers. It's really the summer vintage meet to attend. I got over six hours of bottom time at the last Portage event. If your looking to dive vintage and learn from guys who have been doing vintage forever, this is the summer event to attend. I understand in 2012 Sandog will be coming back to Florida making it once again affordable and reasonable for the average schmuck like myself. Nothing better then vintage diving the springs in Florida in April with Vintage dive gear!

I'll be looking forward to meeting you, SJ. I went last year, but wasn't able to stay the whole weekend. This year, I'm going to make sure I have the time to stay.

I met you there last year. I helped you get into the water. You were having some minor wardrobe complications. See you this year!

That was you? Then I thank you for your help! See you in August!:D

I will be there this year too. Missed it last year because of scheduling conflict, didn't think that would ever be an issue before I retired.

If the only dive was Portage, I probably would not make the 700+ mile trip. White Star is a must for me, and that makes the 700 miles less painful.

If you wanted to make a nice 3 or 4 day trip, besides Portage and White Star there is Gilboa, all within an hour or less from Bowling Green. All three have the usually junk, cars, etc., but each is unique in its own way. The event at Portage is not the diving per se, but the number of vintage guys who are there. It has become a reunion of the NAVED originators, etc. You can also get some really good vintage gear. Every year there are double hose regulators, tanks, wetsuits, fins, masks, gauges, harnesses, just to name a few of the items. If you are in need of something specific, ask on VDH for your needs and maybe someone who is attending Portage this year will have it to sell or trade. Many of the vintage divers like trades. See you there.

Been there twice before. Familiar with the event and the fea market. Last trip there I did go to Giboa. Got there too late to dive. They have a few rules and I didn't have time to get wet before they close the water.

With that and the campsite, I decided to take my little camper and leave.

Are there any good shore dives in Erie. I would use my regular gear for that.

Also the vintage club I'm in puts on a vintage dive at Black River Falls Wisconsin.
