Left Mask at the Rothesay

Hi All,

I was at the Rothesay on Tuesday night (June 20th). Like an idiot - I packed up very carefully and then left stuff behind.

I've lost my mask and hood. The mask is a Cressi Big Eyes (blue frame and clear skirt) and the hood is black and looks like a hood.

I left them on either the picnic table at the bottom of the stairs or the one at the top.

I went back the next evening and they were gone. If anyone on this board happens to have picked them up and not known who to get them to, please PM me.

My mother taught me to sew my name into all my stuff, but when I tried that on my mask, the skirt kept leaking.

You drove all the way from Saskatoon to dive the Rothsay ??? ( just kidding ) How was the VIS there, I was there last week and it was terrible. The divers around here are a good bunch and if they picked up your mask and hood, they'll contact you.

Did you also post your missing gear on the Ontario Diving website. Lots of the locals frequent that site ?

Nah - I flew.

I do a lot of work in Ottawa, so I always use the opportunity to test Air Canada's baggage rules and bring my gear.

The vis was pretty crummy. It was the third time I'd been to that site and the water was murkier than the other two times. The temp was 57.

Yes, one of the things I've noticed about the diving community in general, in my short time diving, is the family feeling among the members. I find that I trust divers more than I trust most others. Maybe it has something to do with shared adventures and trusting someone else with your life. I'm certain that if whoever picked up my stuff knew who to get it to, I would already have it.

Thanks for the advice on the other board. I'll post there too once I get back to the flatlands tonight.
