Thanks for the tips, I did try rinsing, but I will give it another go. I did do a refresher from the shore in shallow water with a lot af sand/sediments in the water, so my thought is also that maybe some of that settled in the seal. Also good call on keeping a spare around, just in case...
 
Looking at the picture, on the right side there is a port plug you open with an allen wrench. Open it slowly because the inflater spring is going to pop out. Inside the plug is a schrader valve. You'll need a valve tool to remove it from the plug. Replace it with a new one, or soak it in some vinegar and then some silicone spray. I would bet that tiny valve is sticking a bit. Do rinse the button and spring out since you're taking it apart.
