I have a leaky exhaust valve on my BC. It helps to stretch the spring a little to put more pressure on the seal, but then is starts leaking again. Does it need a new valve or spring?

It's probably time for a new seat. You might be able to turn the one in there now over for a temporary fix.

A little silicone spray worked on mine, but my bc is old so I had nothing to lose by trying it.

The seat is probably fine. I would check it and clean it and try to re-seat the seat. I have seen salt crystals cause problems with the over pressure releif valve.

I would not stretch the spring out, but instead get a new one. I have had springs fail and this will cause a complete loss of the ability to hold air.

Cleaning and lubing with silicone grease may be your best first choice
