I went to the pool to check out my gear before an upcoming trip and had a little surprise. The pull style dump on the bottom of my Dive Rite Wing is leaking air when I inflate at the surface. I have since cleaned the facing of the dump valve, lubricated with silicone(per the recommendation of my LDS staffer), and it still does not seat in such a way that seals.

Any hints about what I might do differently to get this very simply set of parts to work properly again?

I took apart another dump valve on an old BC and found that I was missing the rubber grommet/washer from the dump valve that was leaking. No wonder Huh?

Thanks,
Capt. Obvious
