I use an Oceanic Shadow mask. For my OW training I had no problems with it leaking, no problems doing the drysuit specialty. I've been going to the pool while the wife does her confined water work and again mask works fine.

We go to the pool to lap swim and the mask leaks like a sieve. The only difference is I'm not wearing a tank/BCD. I don't wear a hood.

I've tried repositioning the mask, tightened it, loosened it until if floats off my face. On the surface I can inhale and hold it against my face with suction.

Any ideas? tips?

Too much invested to take up bowling now.

If your mask leaks
When you hit the wave
You should have used
Burma Shave.

If you have a mustache, You probably trim it well before going diveing.
Even without the mustache, just a half days stubble will make the mask leak.

The reg in you mouth pushes the mask up just a bit on some people, making it leak or stopping the leak.
An old diver I know carries a chapstick in his BC. Solves the whisker problem.
Now for the old Burma Shave signs, I don't know how we'll ever get "em back?

Why are you wearing a mask while lap swimming in the pool?

Have you tried a snorkel? The mouthpiece distorts your face a bit, so if the mask doesn't leak underwater, it shouldn't leak on top...
