Yes I am talking about LDS vs online purchases. I am all about supporting your local community. I just wonder how many people use Walmart as opposed to a local vender because of cheaper prices and convenience? Well online scuba is cheaper and more convenient. I my self would rather not go to walmart but if I save money there I am able to blow more bubbles!!!!

They sell little cheapo masks and snorkels I believe. Personally, I would never use anything "scuba-related" from Walmart--especially since these are things that my life depends on.

you mean i should return my mask and fins i bought for next weeks DIR-F class?

I am using walmart as an example. Online vs LDS or Walmart VS local store. Just an analogy

I buy things that I need to be fitted for from my LDS and some other purchases from there.

I will give another example of when I go somewhere other than local. If I go to my local lumber yard to buy a 2x4 I pay $4 each for them because I am not a contractor if I go to Lowes or Menards I pay $2.50 for the same 2x4. So I wouldn't mind paying $2.75 for the 2x4 but $4????? I like to buy locally but I do not like getting ripped off locally.

You should check the online prices and if the LDS is trying to rip you off buy online if they are just a little higher due to volume then you might consider buying from them for the convience.

Free market is a wonderful thing!!

Scuba Toys is located in my neck of the woods (Dallas, TX), hence they are a LDS to me. :)

I think they got it. They are probably just sick of discussing it as this topic has been discussed here about 10,0000000000000000 times before. Do a search and you will find 10,00000000000 hrs of reading, lol. My personal opinion is horses for courses.;)

Wouldn't it be sweet if Walmart sold scuba gear. They could sell top of the line equipment for 30 cents on the dollar and give you $1 air fills. And at the same time you could brush up on your Spanish.
