That depends on what you are looking to get from it.

Are you getting credit for gear/lessons?
Looking to learn to be a retail/Inst. so you can take off for claer/warm water.
Wanting to learn the bizz. so you can open your own shop?

I ran a shop for years and we had lots of "Interns" for the above reasons, just let that LDS know the real reason you want to be there and make sure they are giving you what you want in return for your being there.
 
umm wat i wanted was jus basically to learn stuff really and mayb to get credit on gear or wateva.. but the main reason is jus to spend some time around gear and divers
 
Then yes it can be a great learning experience.
Just be ready to fill tanks a nd rince gear and feel like your doing alot of Grunt work.
 
and a good way when dealing with Business and customers is to lay off the IM chat. :)
 
An internship is what I did, but, paid the prices for the courses, DM, that I was taking. Took 6 months, but I think, I learned alot working with real students instead of other candidates as in alot of courses.
