Does anyone use something like this product to cover your LCD when not in the underwater case:

http://www.purplemoo.com/shopexd.asp?id=142

I was looking for more ofa larger sheet of it i could just cut to size but will buy something like that if i cant find it.

I'm assuming this is something similar to the stuff you typically peel off when you usually get a new electronics device like a cell phone or something.

thanks

steve

There's something called Tiger Skin that I use for watches and computers. It comes in a 6x9 (?) sheet and costs about $6-8... been awhile since I bought any. I get it at the dive shop. I don't know why that wouldn't work. I've considered putting it on my camera since it is very clear but I rarely use it out of the housing and when I do I'm careful with it.

That i think is exactly what i'm looking for. May try both and report back here. So that works ok underwater i take it - i.e. if i put that on my stinger it should stay?

I've covered all our dive watches and computers. It's thicker than most of the brand name lens protectors I've seen and once it's 'set', it's so clear you don't know it's there. My dive watch has had it on there about 4 years and it's still adhering just fine. I even have it on my Palm Pilot!

Go get those PDA protectors and cut them down to size. They peel off whenever you want. I use them on my Canon A40, they work great.

just got the Fellowes WriteRight PDA protector. The stuff looks horrible when the lcd is on - lots of color artifacting etc. Just doesnt cut it.

I'll order some tiger skin and see how that goes.

I guess I should have mentioned that! Most of the PDA protectors I've found have that funky color thing going on...one reason I don't use them. I just picked up some more Tiger Skin at the dive shop for $6.95

I have tried the tiger skin on my camera and it seemed to distort the pictures, I have since cleaned the lens very well and reaplied the tiger skin and the pictures turned out great. Very important that the lens be clean and try not to get fingerprints on the tiger skin.
