The day's diving started out with a not so promising forecast, but it looked divable at Point Lobos so we went in. Swimming about past Hole-In-The-Wall and then out to Beto's Reef, the viz got better to about 30 feet. Nice for such a poor forecast.

We had a fun encounter.

At around 85 feet I spotted a Mola Mola behind my buddy. By the time I unclipped my little camera he was gone. Then he came back, only this time he circled us, then left, then came back and circled us again, looking at us with a curiosity I hadn't seen in a fish before! He certainly was curious about us. What was he thinking? Cute little divers? Did we look like Jellyfish?

So I got some decent video of him!

All dives are fun, some are just more "entertaining" ;-)
Live Long, play hard, be safe, deco, don't push the tables and do deep stops!

Doc - I think you might need to correct your title of the movie. It currently says "September 18th". Are you diving back in time!? :)

Great video! I would love to see a mola mola. I guess someone on our dives in the Channel Islands this past weekend saw one ... missed it. Drats.

Hm....I've got to get more sleep! Yes, it was Nov 18th and not Sept 18th!

That's why I always have my little camera with me for time when I see something interesting.

very nice video!

I'd love to see a Mola Mola too! My dive buddies saw them one weekend when I opted to go to the city with a non diver friend. :11doh:

Very nice video Doc. I would love to see a Mola Mola as well. Might have to wait until next season. You never know though.

Just keep diving and sooner or later they will show up! This one was unique in that it took quite a liking to us. Cute!
