Going next weekend, arrive Friday at 11am and fly out Monday at 4pm. Should I grab a connection to Little Cayman or stay on Grand Cayman and go back to Little Cayman when I have more time? Thanks!

For a short trip like that I'd stay on GC. That way you can fit in afternoon diving +/- night dive Friday and Sunday early afternoon diving as well.

Yep I think that's what I'll do and get 6+ dives in. Ambassador seems solid, any other dive shop reccomendations?

What area are you staying and will you have a car? If on 7MB and will have a car, consider shore dives at Turtle Reef, Lighthouse Pt and Eden Rock.

save LC for another trip, definitely not enough time to waste on connecting flights on a weekend trip like that. Plus there's lots more potential for night/shore diving opportunities on GC in order to fit in more dives.

Are you at Comfort Suites? So is Ambassador. Although just about any operator will pick you up for boat dives along SMB though. They're certainly a good choice, everyone charges about the same for boat dives and bad operators don't last - better than average service is what distinguishes the ones that do.

Without gear you could take the Bus (small vans) to most of the better shore dive sites. I don't actually know if they'll allow you on with gear, I've seen locals with shopping bags/carts waiting for it so maybe? Grand Cayman's Public Bus Service Everything in a backpack shouldn't be a problem.

Turtle Reef/Farm is a stop and I'm fairly sure it stops in front of Divetech/Cobalt Coast as well - within a block or so. Also there's dives at Eden Rock/Devils Grotto and Sunset House downtown. We took a cab once from TI Condos (near Comfort Suites) to Sunset House fairly reasonably. It's a decent dive, My Bar is a divers bar with good food on the premises. It could be a good Friday afternoon dive since (a) there may be cruise ships downtown and (b) Cobalt Coast/Turtle Reef are farther north. Sundivers at Turtle Reef closes fairly early also. Lighthouse Point is slightly farther west. All three are in pretty quiet areas but each has a shop on-site as well as food option(s) LHP is also a Divetech operation.

Since I have them all permanently bookmarked:

We planned to do Grand Cayman without a car also, the 2nd day we rented one - it was just much more convenient. Andy's will pick you up on SMB - their satellite office is on the south end. And you can drop the car at the airport.

Unless you are sticking to boat dives where they pick you up, to get the most out of the weekend you might consider a car. I don't think cabs or public transportation are a practical way to do shore dives, even if they'll let you. I've repeatedly seen other people do the same thing, start with no plans to get a car and want one by the second day. (I think we did this ourselves first time there...)

If you want to do a night shore dive someplace, check how they work things as you likely need to plan ahead. I know when Dive Tech was at Turtle Reef they would be closed and locked up at night (and the rinse tanks would be empty with water off.) If you were diving with them you just had to plan ahead and they would stick your name on some tanks and leave them outside. Sundivers may do the same, don't know. If you were staying at Sunset House you would have to get tanks before they closed and stick them in your locker. Don't know how it would work if you weren't staying there. Some places may offer guided shore dives or occasionally boat dives at night which avoids the "not open" problem but you'd still need to prearrange - and it seems Fri/Sat night would be the least likely nights they'd do them, as most people are either just arriving or departing the next morning.
