One problem with these dive travel agencies. They're all double occupancy rates, which assumes I have a dive buddy already: which I don't. I was planning on being paired up on a liveaboard currently asking around, trying to find a like-minded diver on my campus (UT-Austin)!

Have you called to talk with anyone in person? If not, I'd give it a try. Occupancy rates are down everywhere right now and people are more willing to negotiate than in the past. Tell people your situation and see what they offer, then ask, "Can you do any better than that?" Good luck!
