I went diving up at folly's cove for one last dive of 2003 on New Years Eve. The dive was great, though we did have a fair share of problems. My buddy and I decided the night before to head out there in the morning after he got his jeep fixed. Well to start things off, we decided to fill his tanks up at Cape Ann Divers, but it turned out it was closed, luckly both of my tanks were full so rather then waste an hour and half ride there, we went on one dive. He was diving wet, while I was going dry. We also wanted to try out my new Sea and Sea digital camera, so we suited up and headed to the water. I was getting the finger most of the time because my buddy was a little cold. We went cruising around underwater and saw a lot of sand dollars, and a few lobsters hiding under the rocks (all shorts through). Then went I decided to snap some photos my camera wouldn't work. After an inspection underwater I could see water swishing around in the insided. Realizing that I was alittle angry, especailly seeing I had only gotten the camera two days before and this was its first dive. We did our dive for about 35 minutes of bottom time, with a max depth of 40 feet. As for my brand new camera, its now turned into a four hunderd dollar paper weight, luckly its under warrenty. I'll have to talk to my LDS and see who I need to contact, after inspecting the camera after the dive, I still can't see to see where the leak was, the o-ring looked good, and was clean and lubercated. Hopefully if anyone else did a last dive of the year it wasn't as bad as mine.

I dove on New Years Day. It was perfect. Wet dive off Marblehead, 35 feet max, 39 degrees on the bottom. Lots of sand dolllars and a handful of bugs. I actually got three keepers but they were very hard to get out of the rocks as they were deep. Lots of shorts around. Anenomes and star fish were around as well. Only my fingers got cold. I left my camera at home, but that could have easily happened to me. Maybe your luck will rebound in the New Year.

Yeah, Here's to hoping. I'm heading to my dive shop in a few to see about returning the camera, hopefully its under warrenty. Yeah i saw a few bugs but they were all shorts really really short.

Well the next time I'll be diving this year will probably be the 23rd-25th, I'm taking an ice diving class up in vermont, hopefully it will go alot better.
