Hi, I had Lasik Surgery done a month ago for my eyes, and the doctor is saying I can resume normal activity and scuba diving.

I'm taking a trip down to the keys Easter Weekend, which would be 6-7 weeks after surgery , and was wondering any had the surgery done before, and 6 weeks long enough?

I know the doctor said it's " Ok " but they didn't even understand atmosphere's, presure changes in depth, etc.

If it was reef diving which some of it would be, I be ok, but were doing the Speigal , and other wrecks etc.

Thanks

My eye cutter does infact understand the dive problems and cleared me in one week. i did it with no problems. 125 feet.

Mo betta now. 20/15 and 20/20...I was complaining about my poor vision in my right eye so they retested LOL, love it!

There is the canned DAN Answer.

and then there is the PubMed Answer. (Refractive change in response to acute hyperbaric stress in refractive surgery patients.Huang et. al. J Cataract Refract Surg. 2002 Sep;28(9):1575-80.)

Thanks, I'm reading up on it now

I didn't think it would be a problem, but just wanted to check

Can't wait to go diving and be able to see !!

I had 20/120 vision before, 1 month later and I have 20/20 to 20/15, it's unbelivable !!

I have to say, now I can paintball with no glasses under the mask, fly planes,
( remote control ) and see, scuba dive, exersize, and just be able to see better all day long, it's the best thing I ever did for my self, worth every dollar

My surgeon gave me 4 weeks... I scheduled a dive trip 30 days after the procedure so I'd have something to look forward to.

If I had it to do all over again, I think I'd want Wildcard's doc. Anything to get back in the water sooner.

The vision adjustment is amazing; The detail that comes with 20/15 is amazing in and out of the water. Definitely worth the investment.
