Las Vegas man dies in scuba incident at Lake Mead - www.ktnv.com
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A Las Vegas man died Saturday morning while scuba diving at Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
Just before 9 a.m., the communication center received multiple 911 calls reporting that a diver was in distress.
The victim was diving with a group in the Kingman Wash area, which is located on the Arizona side of Lake Mead, just north of the Hoover Dam.
Witnesses said, when the diver surfaced, he was unresponsive. People aboard a bystander boat initiated CPR and transported the victim to Hemenway Harbor where emergency personnel provided additional life support care.
They were unable to resuscitate the diver. He was pronounced dead at 9:45 a.m.
The death is being investigated by the National Park Service Rangers and the Clark County Coroner's Office and Medical Examiner.
The man's name has not been released.

Victim was identified as 52-year-old Las Vegas resident William Meyer. Cause of death is still unknown.
