Hey,

Does anyone here have a hookup or something in Vegas...Im talking hotel deals on the strip? I'm looking to stay 5 nights right on the strip in a couple weeks.

Any help would be cool.

Check out expedia. They usually have good deals on combined airfare/hotel. I usually stay on the north end of the strip. Circus Circus usually runs about $35-40/night weekdays and slots of fun right next door sells 16oz marguaritas for 75 cents. The south end is a little pricier. The center of the strip is only if you have money to throw away.

STAY AWAY FROM CIRCUS. The new Hooters hotel looks nice but they are still working on it, should be great when totally done. Plus on the lesser side of the allmighty LV hotel room rate scale. What dates are you lookin at?

Yeah dude... you don't want Circus Circus... it's a dump.

What are you doing in Vegas?

Right now Aladdin is going through the transformation to become Planet Hollywood. I get their e-mailed deals, the last one was pretty good as I recall. In the $125 or less range, which is good for being in the heart of the strip.

I've stayed there, at the Flamingo - lots of Seniors there, Monte Carlo, the Hard Rock and the Rio. One nice thing about Aladdin is that the elevators to the rooms are actually in the hotel lobby so they don't make you walk the length of the casino every time.

HR and Rio aren't on the Strip, but they're close. Hard Rock is probably the best hotel for the sub-40 crowd. I like the Rio since every room is a suite, you can get good deals on their website, or by calling them. They also have a free shuttle to Harrah's - their other property, which puts you in the Convention Ctr., Venetian, Caesars, Mirage area.

I personally don't like NYNY since their rooms are small. And the Palms is the current "in" hotel so their prices reflect it.

If you don't have firm dates to be there, go when there's a minimum of conventions in town. The rates double or triple those weeks and everything is crowded starting with the wait at the taxi stand at the airport.

So what's wrong with Circus? What do you do when you go to Vegas? I spend maybe 6 hours in the room each day. That includes sleep and shower. The rest of the time I'm out on the strip somewhere. If you're looking for inexpensive, Circus is the place. It's clean and the rooms are a decent size. You don't have to hang out there during waking hours.

Actually I did get us into Hooters towards the 2nd half of our trip.

I have two free RT tickets with Southwest and one of them expires the end of this month so I figured I would take my dad on a trip. We are going in to Vegas, than driving to the Grand Canyon, then Sedona for a night and then back to Vegas to stay at Hooters the rest of the time.

My dad has a brother he hasnt seen or spoken to in over 30 years...we may just show up at his doorstep after a few drinks..lol...he lives right in Vegas....hot action!!
