Hello all, not sure if this belongs in women's issues or exposure suits... apologies if this is the wrong place :)

Any opinions on where to find a 3mm shorty in a larger woman's size (around 18 or so) on short notice (traveling 12/25 to Grand Cayman, can hit stores in NYC, otherwise need to go on-line)? Or are larger women still wearing men's suits/custom suits?

I did a search for old posts, and looks like back in 2001 there wasn't much available, but maybe things have changed? Thanks, Anne

I got a great one. It is sort of a two in one concept. It is a Harvey's 3-MM Mens Matrix Dri-Flex Neoprene One-Piece Jumpsuit, Black/Gray 3mm from Leisure Pro. I got a mens and there are a few places that don't curve to my figure but I like it. It is nice to have the stretch range. Good luck!

Direct from Leisure Pro website:
Description
The New Harvey's Matrix, 4-way-stretch neoprene is designed to add an element to suit design not often seen, luxury. Most divers don't put the word “luxurious” and “ exposure suits” together in the same sentence, but they might when they experience the Matrix's four-way stretch neoprene that's easily the most flexible and comfortable material ever produced. With an amazing 2.5 x stretch range, users will enjoy a “near custom” fit that will allow any diver the opportunity to Comfortably move through the water with less effort and more dexterity than standard neoprene diving suits ever before.

The Dri-Flex material will also expand to accommodate a diver's change of size (from 30 to 50 pounds). the Matrix Dri-Flex suits are truly Velcro and BCD friendly. The material is designed to have greatly reduced vulnerability to potential Velcro or BCD wear and damage. Using Harvey's exclusive Kobalt Pro-Flex Seal System, each Matrix wetsuit is actually semi-dry by design.

The adjustable Kobalt sealed neck design works in tandem with the Kobalt seals at the wrists and legs. This suit is not only the most flexible but likely to be one of the warmest wetsuits on the market today.

Features
Kobalt Pro-Flex Seal System.
Bent elbow and knee design.
Double Velcro shoulder closure.
Thick polyurethane knee pads.
Spine pad on two piece suits.

too bad you're limited by time. I would send you to Liquid Fit to get one of their superstretch suits.....she has some really great new colorer.

If you can go to leisure pro and talk them into overnighting you a suit, I would go with the Henderson Hyperstretch.

Hey, have a wonderful time.

Thanks for your helpful comments. I tried on the Henderson Hyperstretch and it fit really well. I actually got it in a smaller size than I thought I needed, (maybe it stretches well or else runs a little big?). Thanks again, Anne

Funny,

I saw the title on your thread and immediatly thought Hyperstrech. Good stuff! I just bought a 5mm full suit for my wife for X-mas.

Enjoy!
