Major rescue operation after the diver’s disappearance
At 18.27 emergency services were reported missing diver.
– The last time a diver was seen was two hours before. It is about an experienced diver who dived in the Blucher area near Drobak and who did not show up at the agreed time, tells TV 2 the head of the rescue service of the main rescue center of Southern Norway Toralf Juva.
A major rescue operation was launched from the ground and water. According to the rescue company, four lifeboats, two helicopters and three fire boats are assisting in the search.
HRS coordinates the campaign.
A general appeal was also sent on coastal radio.
“It’s too early to tell what happened, and we started this action to be safe,” says Juva.
Police say a 30-year-old man who was diving with others at a diving club is missing.
The police received a report of concern at about 6.30 pm.
– He had improved diving equipment in which there was no air left. It is worrying that he did not arrive on time and that several hours have passed, says Gisl Sven, head of operations.
Police say relatives have been notified.
– It’s too early to say anything about what could have happened, but we are in a place with a lot of resources, – says Swin.
