Is there a dive shop in Laredo these days. I ran into a guy in Houston at a car dealership(Service Manager) who used to run one before he moved to Houston.

No, unfortunately. The guy you are talking about that moved to Houston is, I believe Jay. I sure hope one day, Laredo will get a dive shop. Have fun diving Mark.

Very cool. Checked out your site. The wife and I will be doing a road trip for a couple of weeks in late August and early September diving Texas lakes. Kind of our own version of Dive Across Texas. Will check back in with you on events in your area and perhaps stop and blow some bubbles.

I hope you get a chance to visit us in Austin for a dive on Lake Travis. We will be running weekend charters and Wednesday sunset charters all season. Come out for a dive from Giant Stride.

To meet a lot of divers, other dive clubs, and dive shops taking students on check out dives and enjoy the atmosphere at Lake Travis, go to Windy Point Park and be sure to call Richard ahead of time and he'll post your club's visit on his website. You can camp out onsite and do a night dive. Richard has a compressor onsite for fills. My second suggestion is at a mere $8 per car (stuff as many divers and gear as you can into a few vehicles and) drive to Mansfield Dam public park and dive the dam.

I have a couple of daughters in Laredo that are thinking about taking up diving so they can go with me. Any suggestions on where to go to get certified?
