I am moving my dive to Sunday, since the weatherman is calling for thunderstorms on Saturday morning.

My brother in law, Ken, and I will be going out around 9:30 if anyone is interested in joining us. Mainly going out to play around and let him get used to using a steel tank before we head to Grays reef.

Are you going to WBP? If you don't mind Jesse and I tagging alongside I'll see you there. I'll be the one NOT wearting a steel tank. It warming up at the lake I might dive with just my swimming shorts this time.:eyebrow:

J,
Yes we will be at WBP, not sure if at the back cove or the mask cove. I'm sure the swim shorts will be fine as long as they are not speedos, you might scare the fish

Dive report for WBP - mask cove

Well 6 looney birds made it out today although at varying times.

Cliff and Tim were out early hitting the water about 9:20 or so for a dive out to 80-85 feet. Cliff reported bottom temps in the 49 degree range with visibility of 20+ feet.

Ken and I along with Jeremy and Jesse started our first dive around 10:00. We decided to stay shallow, above the thermocline at 40 feet. This was Ken's first time out at Lanier and he says he will be back, so I guess we have a new Looney bird. The temps above the thermocline were in the 54-58 range. The visibility was around 10 feet or so. Jeremy and his brother only did one dive, but Ken and I went back in for a second dive after a 45 minute SI. We cut the 2nd dive short because I began to have some problems with my right ear. This pollen is really messing with my sinuses. I didn't see any fish today, but Jeremy reported seeing a bass. I did find a toaster, lots of empty beer/soda cans and 2 golf balls. We, the looney birds, should consider doing an underwater cleanup at our dives sites. It seems that I see more and more trash each time.

Thanks for the report Allen. I bought an underwater collection bag the other day just for the same reason you posted above. I told Kyle that I am going to start doing a trash clean-up dive here and there. When it gets really warm out there I will start doing a trash clean-up dive every time I am out there. Since I will start pulling 2-3 dives when it's warm out there, atleast one will be trash clean-up detail. I have been snipping fishing line and cleaning it up everytime I see it as well. The trash is only going to get worse as there is going to be quite a few people swimming in the lake come summer.

Should of seen the bass, I estamate it was about 15 pounds!

...then again I did see a softball underwater that turned out to be a golf ball...:eyebrow:

Well, err, it is a fish story and you have to s-t-r-e-t-c-h the true size sometime.
