Hello, my name is Pat, and although I'm not new to diving a lot about divingis now new to me.

I starting diving about 10 years ago, but haven't dove in the last 5 years or so. The reason I am getting back to it now is that my wife had the opportunity, on a trip to Australia, dive the great barrier reef. She is not certified(yet - but will be by the end of this weekend), but has been taking lessons and now has diving in her head 24/7.

So, I'm joining to find out what is going on in the world and to get back in touch with a hobby I had neglected since my partner didn't participate.

Best regards to all!

Howdy!

Welcome to SB!!
:happywave Put us in your computer's favorites and check in often. This is a great place to learn, compare, argue :argue: Look around our various forums - everything from New-To-Scuba to Instructors-Only to Dive Medicine.

You know, if you've been out for 5 years, you might redo the basic course, or at least a good refresher course.

Heya Pat and welcome to the ScubaBoard. Congrats on getting bak into the sport, and now you'll always have a dive buddy! Keep us updated on your progress and always feel free to ask questions, alot has changed.

Welcome Aboard!!!

It's addictive, but who cares?!?!?

Good friends and good info. What could be better???

P.S. - If you have not already done so, please fill out your profile.

Enough said.

You've come to the right place! Make sure your wife joins too.

A few suggestions: The Florida Conch Divers forum is a great place to meet local folks and find out who's diving where. (Look in Private Trips and feel free to join us when you have some free time.)

The New2Scuba and Basic Scuba Discussions are great places to bone up on the basics. They can provide a low-impace review course for you.

Otherwise, welcome to the board. Hope to cross paths underwater some time.

Welcome to the board. Fun people, fun topics, great info.

Welcome to the board and it sure is nice that you'll have a permanant dive buddy. 5 year layoff sounds like a refresher course might be in order, just to be on the safe side. Heard to many not to nice life lessons about divers with that much time out of the water. Just a word of percaution.
Good Luck

Dive Safely
