I saw an on line letter from the former operator of Rawlings that seemed to say he could not continue to lease the quarry from the family/owner, and was closing the business.
Has a new operator begun and named it Phoenix? Enquir:confused:ing minds want to know.

yes, a new operator and a new name

Yep it's called Lake Phoenix now. It's pretty good diving and the visibility is great, especially for a quarry. The folks at the dive shop are nice, there is equipment to rent and air/nitrox fills on site. There is camping and a bath house available but we didn't do much of that since we were just down for the day.
