I know it is short notice, but anyone interested in going on a wreck dive in Lake Erie this Saturday?

I was trying to go out with Discovery Dive Charters in Cleveland, but so far it's only me and my dive buddy and they require 4 divers before they will set out. The trip is $85. The wrecks are the Admiral and the Duke Luedke their website lists the dives as advanced. Depth is probably around 70 feet and water temp is probably in the mid 40's. The ship leaves at around 9am and returns around 3pm. Alternatively, if you have a boat near Cleveland, and room for a couple of divers, maybe we can work something out.

Mike, sorry can't make it, but I did already go on a trip with Discovery Dive Charters a couple weeks ago - highly recommend them.

Hope the vis is better for you than it was for us! We've got a thread posted with a trip report in it, so you can read all about our experiences.

I went yesterday on the east side of the lake. . . It was the clearest I have seen it in 2 years.

Thanks Ken,

I dove with them several times last year, the viz is definitely hit or miss in western Lake Erie. Let me know if you are going out with them again and need a couple extra divers to get the charter.

I dove the Dacotah, not much left except timbers, couple capstans and the windlass, but lots of freight, china, pots, jugs, cast iron stoves parts spread out all over. I walked a 1/4 way out to it from shore. It was a weird dive though, not one plant, not one fish, not a peep. I get worried when nothing is moving around me. But vis was prob 40-50 feet in only 30 feet of water. Very Nice.

I'm hitching a ride on a charter this weekend, don't even know which wreck they are heading too. I'm going down to the LDS to find out this morning.

Going out with Osprey or some other charter?

A LDS has there own boat, but it's not going to be ready this weekend, but next weekend it will be they just told me. Sooo gotta find someplace else to dive this weekend.

Osprey is one of the best around here, Capt Jim is great.

I'll have to get ahold of you next time I go to the Flats when I'm in Clev. :D

My buddy and I were going to Gilboa, but it's over 3 hrs. away. If you need 2 more people for tomorrow, let me know. You can call me this afternoon @ 330.868.1526 or after 6 p.m. tonight: Steve 330.283.3672. Is it $85 per person? Thanks in advance, or e-mail me: stevelohman@metaldyne.com or nasagrc@aol.com
