any one know how the visibility in lake erie is compared to lake huron? i know erie is a bit more muddy and shallow so im assuming the vis is not as good. im sure some of you can tell me if that is true or not? also any good lake erie wreck suggestions to dive around the Michigan or northern ohio area?

Lake Huron has generally 70ft or more. There are usually cases of vis 100-200ft in areas and certain conditions. Generally Lake Erie has good vis below the thermocline >40ft or so, but bad on the surface with5-10ft. This year Erie is clearer than usual with 50ft on the shallower wrecks. Western Lake Erie does not have intact wrecks and lie in muddy waters. Middle Lake Erie (Cleveland-Lorain-Pt Pelee, Erieu>East) have decent wrecks like Colgate, Willis, Admiral, Merida, and the Duke Ludke.
