Houbi Lake is actually not a lake. The word "lake" in this instance refers to the opening of the dust bin in Taiwanese language. But since it is phonetically similar to the word lake, so symbolically, the word "lake" is used to name the area.

So Houbi Lake is actually a cove along the coast and it has a pretty big harbor for fishing fleets. It is called a "lake" because the cove itself is shape a bit like the dust bin. There are couple of other places in Taiwan that has the word lake in the name but there is no lake to be found.

There are quite a few diver accidents in Taiwan this year. Sad to see.
