Just sitting here having dinner on my next to last night at Laguna beach before im off to Little cay. I must say i have really enjoyed my stay here. Dive master/ Instructer Mike and Captain Wagner are great fun and the know how to find the sea life. the food is great, the service is great. They even change tanks for you between dives. The location is beautiful and the rooms are nice. Barely had time to use the pool with all the diving. Its been like a private resort here because there are only two other people staying on the entire resort. A combination of the off season and CNN. Seen Turtles, sea horse, nudiebranch, a ton of moray, eagle ray, you name it weve seen it, except for a whale shark which we usually spend our surface intervals cruising for. But honestly this trip has been wonderful and the great diving doesnt depend on a whale shark sighting. I would recommended Laguna Beach Resort to anyone who wants to stay in a beautiful location, doing at least 3-4 dives a day at an affordable price. Lots of sun, sand and a pool for the non-diver in your life as well. No night life to speak of but they are more than willing to boat you over to Utila if you want some of that. I even managed to squeeze in some horseback riding. Thats an adventure in itself, dodging ATVs and motorcycles on horseback! so far great people, great weather and great diving. Dove out of UDC, Cross Creek, Laguna Beach and starting next week Captain Morgan's since I will be staying on Little Cay. So far Laguna Beach wins hands down...they are all fine but Laguna has just been a wonderful experience with their knowledge and boats which make re-entry a breeze.
