I'm planning on camping around Lake W. over the holiday weekend and got the idea of diving the lake. I came across the wreck "Lady of the Lake" in my search of what to see.
Can you get to this sight from shore or is it reachable by boat only? Any other interesting dive sites in Lake Winn?
Thx for any info.

You could probably get to lady of lake from shore but long swim out and dangerous as it's close to Marina. Lots of boat traffic passing overhead. The wreck wasn't supposed to be sunk there. As taking out to deeper water, one of plugs came out and sank in shallow water.

There really isn't any good stuff to see. Clarks point is probably good dive. There is the occasional bass.

Typical lake diving huh?
Alright, maybe I'll leave my equipment at home and just drink beer. Is the wreck worth the dive? My experience so far with fresh water diving is a quary in Virginia and Maidstone Lake in VT. No offence to FW divers but these two left me unimpressed.

I dove the lady from a friends boat. Agree that you could maybe get there from shore (distance wise, not sure about shore access) but it's not worth the likelyhood of getting run over by a boat to do it. I thought the most exciting part of this dive was just finding the wreck (as the marker was missing at the time.) I think we saw 2 fish.
