Very nice report. This was insightful for me in more ways than one. IE. I had no idea that the water temp. was so low on the GBR in the winter.

I am still trying to get enough time off to come and do Oz "right". Maybe in the next two years.

Thanks again,

Dave

:) It's a great place for divers. A little advice from a displaced Canuck. You may want to plan your trip so you are here in the cooler months. Pretty uncomfortable for those not used to the heat even in Sydney in Dec 35 C water temps in Sydney around 21 - 22. Cheaper to travel off-season anyway unless you are going to try for a work visa and longer stay. LEI website will give info about average temps for various times of the year. There are some brilliant dive sites here in some areas that aren't the typical tourist spots and therefore cheaper as well.

When you are getting close to the time of your trip just pop into the Australian forum and there will be lots of people happy to tell you their favourite dive location.

until then safe diving

Thanks for the wonderful photos and trip report; it sounds like you all had a great time. :)

It's given me an incentive to get back into diving as soon as possible, and hopefully visit LEI one day.

Loved your trip report almitywife! Thanks for posting it in detail :) Pics are cool also~~
